Recommendations Following Your First Series of Adjustments

The following guidelines will help with your health goals during your initial series of chiropractic adjustments. The doctor realizes that people get better faster when they actively participate in their own health care. These recommendations are based on research findings associated with intelligent and effective outcomes in healthcare.

  1. During the first 2-3 weeks of chiropractic care, avoid high impact aerobics, jumping, heavy lifting (if at all possible), and improper lifting. Left with your legs, not with your back.
  2. Be sure to keep your scheduled visits as recommended. Missing visits can adversely affect the outcome of your case. In the beginning of care, higher frequency of visits is very important. Frequency is reduced as soon as possible. Dr. Hochman will ask you to schedule your visits 2 to 3 weeks in advance.
  3. If Dr. Hochman recommends nutritional supplementation, be sure to take the supplements as advised. Also, follow any advice regarding diet changes appropriate for your case.
  4. Be sure to do any prescribed stretches or strengthening exercises daily. Failure to do so may adversely affect the outcome of your case.
